The Executive Council decided that the Barracks, after applying certain conditions, would be sold and the proceeds divided equally between the Imperial Government and the Colonial Government, as stated in their letter to W.O. of 12th Oct. last.

I am to state that the Colony should contribute not less than half of the balance, whatever it may be, and with reference to the Treasury's letter (see p.40), it is noted that the Treasury did not acquiesce in that view.
